Florida regular gasoline averaged $4.017 a gallon on October 26, up 3.6 cents, while the Gulf Coast average fell 8.2 cents, to $3.702. The Energy Information Administration released the survey on October 27.
Miami, reported separately from the statewide average, was $4.077, down 0.2 cents. Texas fell 7.2 cents, to $3.632, and Houston fell 2.9 cents, to $3.681. Florida is not the Gulf Coast regional series, so that regional drop is not a Florida price.
The state’s 3.6-cent increase is modest beside Ohio’s 33.1-cent jump in the same table. EIA supplies no explanation for the split. The figures include taxes and are averages for defined areas, not every station. Florida was also $1.164 a gallon above its year-ago reading.
Did the Gulf Coast decline show up in Florida’s gasoline average? No. Florida’s state average rose 3.6 cents, to $4.017. Miami was nearly unchanged, down 0.2 cents at $4.077.
