Fox Business reported on November 1 that the FBI attributed Thursday's Binance theft to North Korean hackers it calls TraderTraitor. The bureau said more than $6 billion in virtual assets was taken and was being turned mainly into ether. Binance had estimated the loss at about $6.3 billion and suspended deposits and withdrawals. By Saturday, the exchange said about 90 percent had been replenished, roughly $6 billion, and that users would not bear the loss. It said bitcoin, ether, tether and BNB were fully backed, while it was still buying thinner tokens.

President Trump, also on Saturday, said the administration was still learning whether North Korea was responsible. That comment is not the FBI's finding. This article does not say withdrawals are open again, and it does not identify a Binance.US loss. Coverage of the loss is not the same thing as restored access.

Does the FBI finding show a U.S. balance was stolen or that withdrawals are open? Neither result was established here. The report adds the FBI's North Korea attribution and Binance's pledge that users will not pay the loss.
